Antoine Camilleri’s Prayer: A Critical Analysis

This study marks a fresh start, a new approach on how to study Antoine Camilleri. It focuses on just one art work from 1982 which in my opinion incapsulates the entire oeuvre of the artist. It is a mature work, executed when the artist was 60 years old, and it refers and brings into focus several other key works by the artist that correlate with the content of this selected painting. It is a work that I personally have experienced in the making and was involved in the several discussions I had with the artist regarding its main concepts. This work is ''PRAYER'' executed in 1982, during a very prolific period in the artist's entire career. This publication is an intimate study of it, providing a closer more comprehensive look at its content, and provides an appreciation and a better understanding of the entire oeuvre of Antoine Camilleri.
