The Exhibitions Department is responsible for all displays – both temporary and permanent – set up in Heritage Malta’s museums and sites, as well as displays organised abroad through collaborations with Heritage Malta. This entails design, manufacture, production and maintenance, among others.
Logistics, transfers and loan agreements also fall within the remit of the Exhibitions Department, together with the design of interpretation and branding.
The department provides the display furniture in all museums and sites, such as showcases, plinths and mounts. It is also responsible for the design and manufacture of large-scale on-site marketing furniture, such as flag banners and wall banners.
The design and production of general signage in museums and sites is also taken care of by the Exhibitions Department, ensuring that visitors obtain all necessary information regarding tickets and opening times and are aware of any warnings related to the respective site.
The department is also responsible for the physical transfer of artefacts in Malta, Gozo and abroad.
