Gran Castello Historic House
The left wing of the complex is currently closed off until further notice.
Fort St Elmo
The Harbour Fire Command and the Bofors Gun Experience of the National War Museum are temporarily closed until further notice.
Gozo Museum of Archeology
A new chapter begins for Gozo’s archaeological story!
On Monday 13th April, the Gozo Museum of Archaeology will close its doors as we prepare for the exciting next phase: the Gozo Museum. Nevertheless, the museum shop will remain temporarily open and Hypogeum tickets will continue to be available from the same premises. The Ċittadella combo ticket remains unchanged.
Thank you for your understanding as we work towards an enhanced museum experience for all.
Museums By Candlelight
Please note that on Saturday 18th April, in preparation for Museums by Candlelight in Birgu, Fort St Angelo, the Inquisitor’s Palace, Birgu Old Armoury and the Malta Maritime Museum will be closing earlier than usual. Last admissions will be at 15:30, with closure at 16:00.
The sites will reopen for Museums by Candlelight from 19:00 until midnight (last admission: midnight).
Notices for all sites
All Heritage Malta museums and sites are closed on 1 January, Good Friday and on 24, 25 & 31 December.
Last admission for all Museums and Sites is 30 minutes before closing time.
Grand Master’s Palace
The Throne Room will remain closed to the public until further notice.
The staterooms will be closed at 2.00 pm on 13th April. The Palace Armoury will remain open as usual throughout the day.
The staterooms will be closed until 1.00 pm on the following dates:
- 29th April
- 27th May
- 24th June
Only the Armoury will be open on the specified days, as the staterooms will reopen after that time.
