Projects

The Projects Department, set up in 2011, is responsible - via its team of (Conservation) Architects and Project Managers - for the design, planning and implementation of all infrastructural projects undertaken by the Agency.

These include multi-million restoration and rehabilitation projects, both EU and locally funded, such as the Grand Master’s Palace, Fort St Angelo, the Malta Maritime Museum and MUŻA, to mention just a few, as well as major exhibitions and other related initiatives.

The department comprises a team of dedicated carpenters, metalsmiths and technical staff, to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of all sites and museums. We also have a specialised team of masonry conservators to execute restoration/conservation interventions.

Major exhibitions and other initiatives are also conceived, designed and manufactured completely in-house.

Furthermore, the Projects Department is responsible for aspects concerning health and safety, security, pest control and cleaning of sites and museums to ensure the holistic protection of our priceless cultural heritage.
