Celebrate the flavours of Malta and the Mediterranean during ‘Tonn u Kapunata’, a Heritage Malta cooking workshop taking place on Monday 26th August 2024, at the Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu.

Bluefin tuna, a key player in the Maltese fishing industry and highly prized in the oriental market, has a rich history in Malta. Grand Master Pinto, an astute administrator, promoted tuna fishing in 1748 to bolster Malta’s economy.

Alongside the sizzling tuna, we will prepare kapunata, a staple in many Mediterranean fish dishes, akin to the French ratatouille and Sicilian caponata, making the most of seasonal vegetables.

There will be two sessions, each bilingual – one for kids from 09:00 till 11:30, and another for adults from 18:30 till 21:00.

Adult participants will be offered a glass of wine during each session, enhancing the culinary experience with a touch of local flavour. All attendees are encouraged to bring an extra container to take home their delicious creations.
