Make your Monday brighter and yummier!

On the 2nd of September, Heritage Malta is inviting you to head to the Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu, to add a delicious Mediterranean recipe to your gastronomic portfolio.

In this exclusive cooking workshop we will learn how to prepare ‘Bżar mimli bir-ross’ (Rice-stuffed bell peppers). We will delve into the rich history of bell peppers and rice, both of which have travelled from far-off lands to become staples in the Mediterranean diet.

Bell peppers, cultivated for thousands of years in Latin America, reached Europe in the 16th century and flourished in the Mediterranean climate. Rice, with its origins in Asia, was introduced to Europe in the 10th century.

This event beautifully merges Eastern origins and Western roots in the Mediterranean culinary tradition.

There will be two sessions – each bilingual – one for kids from 09:00 till 11:30, and another for adults from 18:30 till 21:00.

Adult participants will be offered a glass of wine during each session, enhancing the culinary experience with a touch of local flavour. All attendees are encouraged to bring an extra container to take home their delicious creations.

Important disclaimers: Unfortunately, the venue is not wheelchair accessible, and the course may expose participants to potential allergens such as wheat, eggs, nuts, and gluten.

Tickets, priced at €30 for kids and €40 for adults, can be reserved online here Store – Heritage Malta or at any Heritage Malta museum or site.
