Heritage Malta’s exhibition by Alphonse Mucha entitled ‘In Quest of Beauty’ will come to an end this Sunday the 15th of May. To mark the end of this exhibition, as well as the International Museum Day, on Sunday Heritage Malta will offer one last chance to those interested in visiting the Mucha exhibition at the reduced price of only one Euro per person.

Mucha’s impressive exhibition, at the National Museum of Archeology in Valletta, has been a standard feature within the local cultural calendar since the 26th of February. The exhibition features a selection of over one hundred works, including paintings, lithographs, sculpture, jewellery, photographs, drawings and other artifacts. Included in the exhibition is also the first poster produced for Sarah Bernhardt.

Heritage Malta will be also celebrating the European Night of Museums. Both are organised yearly by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) which is a unique network of almost 30,000 members and professionals that represent the global museum community. During these events, ICOM organises museum events for the public and tourists throughout Europe and the world.

To celebrate the European Night of Museums, on Saturday the 14th of May the National Museum of Fine Arts will inaugurate an exhibition entitled ‘Preti 10×10: Taverna-Malta-Preti’. Free entrance to this museum will be made available once the official inauguration of the exhibition ends, approximately from 2030hrs onwards. For this special event, the museum will extend its opening hours until 2300hrs.
