Damages to Ħaġar Qim Temples’ protective shelter due to high winds

Early this morning, part of the protective shelter of Ħaġar Qim Temples in Qrendi, has sustained damages due to the high winds.  In view of this, Heritage Malta has closed access to the temples for some time until it was established that there was no danger for visitors.  Agency employees went immediately on site to ensure that all the possible measures are taken to prevent further damages to the textile of the protective shelter.  The megalithic structures and the shelter steel structure did not sustain any damages.
