Heritage Malta will open the fascinating Fort Delimara for a day of free guided tours and re-enactments on Sunday 16th October.

Visitors at the open day will be able to appreciate the extensive works conducted by Heritage Malta within Fort Delimara during the past year. With the help of other organisations, thorough cleaning was carried out in the underground sections and the parade ground. Several farm accretions, some of which were even dangerous, were removed. These structures included animal pens. A new electricity and water system has been installed at the fort, and security is also being stepped up.

There will be eight tours and four re-enactments on the 16th of October. Tour times will be as follows: 9:00am (in Maltese), 10.15am (in English), 11.00am (in Maltese), 12.15pm (in English), 1.00pm (in Maltese), 2.15pm (in English), 3.00pm (in Maltese), 4.15pm (in English). Re-enactment shows start at 9.45am, 11.45am, 1.45pm and 3.45pm. Each show will be part of the tour preceding and succeeding it.

Pre-booking is required for those who wish to take part in one of the guided tours. Tickets are available at any Heritage Malta museum or site, or online on www.heritagemalta.org/store. Donations towards the ongoing project to give a new lease of life to Fort Delimara may be made on site during the open day and would be greatly appreciated. Comfortable shoes are to be worn for the tours.
