Cast your anchor at San Pawl Milqi on the feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck!

On Saturday 10th February, Heritage Malta invites you to head to the historic, normally closed site of San Pawl Milqi in Burmarrad – traditionally associated with the story of St Paul’s arrival on the island of Malta – to celebrate mass and join an exclusive guided tour.

The site is traditionally claimed to have been the place where Publius, the Protos of the island, warmly welcomed and hosted St Paul on the latter’s sojourn to the island in circa A.D. 60, hence the site’s name San Pawl Milqi.

The mass commemorating the event will take place at the onsite chapel at 10:00am. The tours, one in Maltese at 9:00am and another one in English at 11:00am, will offer a captivating explanation of the rich agricultural tradition spanning the Punic, Roman, and Arab periods. Ensure your spot by pre-booking through Heritage Malta’s website or ticketing offices, as slots are limited.

You can also delve into the beekeeping heritage of the site, but those sensitive to bee stings are advised to take necessary precautions.

The admission price is €3.50 for normal rates, and €3 for members, offering a unique, affordable opportunity to connect with Malta’s rich past in the picturesque environs of this site.
