Future guardians of the planet!

‘Keep it Clean!’ is a hands-on session designed for students aged 11 or older, taking place at the Malta Maritime Museum in Birgu on 20th August 2024.

This interactive event will delve into the complex relationship between the ocean and the atmosphere, highlighting the ocean’s role as a crucial carbon sink and the impacts of atmospheric changes, including ocean acidification.

Participants, along with one accompanying adult guardian each, will explore the alarming consequences of ocean littering, particularly ghost gear, on underwater archaeological sites. The session emphasizes the importance of preserving our natural and cultural heritage by promoting clean oceans free of litter.

Through this holistic approach, students will gain an understanding of environmental processes and cultivate a sense of responsibility in safeguarding both marine ecosystems and historical treasures.
