Tickle your young ones’ taste buds this summer with ‘Chill Time: Exploring Ice Cream History and Salt’s Cool Effect’, taking place at the Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu on Monday 5th August 2024.

Young participants, aged 7 and older, along with one accompanying adult guardian, will join our Taste History chef on a delectable journey into the art of ice cream making as it was done during the Knights’ period. They will then enjoy freshly prepared ice cream.

While the ice cream chills, museum educators will reveal the fascinating science behind salt’s ability to lower temperature, a crucial technique in historical ice cream making before refrigeration.

Discover the secrets behind this culinary marvel and gain a deeper appreciation for the ingenious methods of the past.

Secure your spot for this unique experience and indulge in the rich history and science of ice cream making, online on Store – Heritage Malta or from any Heritage Malta museum or site!
