Budding chefs, aged between 12 and 16 years old, are invited to embark on a captivating journey including cooking, learning, and celebrating the diverse flavors of Malta’s culinary heritage!
From 12 to 14 February, between 8:30am and 14:30pm, a hands-on workshop in the historic setting of the Inquisitor’s kitchen in Birgu will be offering students a comprehensive exploration of food’s role in history, menu planning, nutritional analysis, and essential kitchen skills. Each day will unveil a distinct menu, crafted with care to accommodate various dietary preferences:
- Day 1 (Lactose-Free, Vegetarian, Nut-Free): Indulge in a starter of Bigilla and Galletti or Grissini, followed by a main course of Spinach Qassatat, and conclude with the delightful traditional dessert, Imqaret.
- Day 2 (Nut-Free): Savor the flavors of Garlic Bread as a starter, delight in the main dish of Mqarrun il-Forn, and end on a sweet note with Xkumvat for dessert.
- Day 3: Dive into the unique flavors of Sfineġ ta l-Inċova jew bit-tadam Imqadded as a starter, enjoy the main course of Froġa tat-tarja, and experience the traditional dessert, Kwareżimal.
