As part of the maltabiennale.art 2024, Heritage Malta- MUŻA will be curating and coordinating the Malta Pavilion that will be set up within MUŻA at the Auberge d’Italie. The maltabiennale.art 2024 opens its doors on 11th March 2024 and will run till the end of May 2024.
The purpose of this call is to solicit expression of interest from artists that are keen to be inspired by Malta’s and the Mediterranean’s Heritage, their conservation, and discoveries in relation to identity.
The expression of interest form is available on the MUŻA and Heritage Malta website.
Applications are to reach MUŻA through the online call for artists from 16th of May 2023 to 31st of August 2023 at noon.
The curatorial team will be working on the final selection during September and October 2023.
The final selections will be announced on Tuesday 31st October 2023.

Seminar for interested artists.
To entice further inspiration to all those interested in being part of the Malta NationalPavilion, interested artists are invited to a seminar which will be held at MUŻA, Auberge d’Italie on Tuesday June 20th between 15.00 and 17.00. During the seminar curators, archaeologists and conservators will be sharing their experience and expertise.
Attendance is by registration on email at info@muza.org by Monday 12th June.
Application procedure:
Step 1 – The interested applicant fills in the application, attaches the required documents and presses ‘submit’. The applicant receives a receipt of application through the provided email address.
Step 2 – Where necessary, applicants will be contacted for further questioning on any queries presented by the Selection Board. Applicants have 1 week to answer queries pertaining to their application.
Step 3 – Accepted applicants will be contacted by the selection board to start the necessary discussions and way forward.
