Thousands of people flocked to Ħaġar Qim & Mnajdra temples and the Domvs Romana during the Open Day of the three sites held by Heritage Malta on Tuesday 19th March.

March the 19th, Feast of St. Joseph, was definitely a busy day for Heritage Malta staff as they were set to organize a day to remember for all the visitors of the Ħaġar Qim & Mnajdra temples as well as the Domvs Romana. Hard work paid off as thousands took advantage of this opportunity, establishing a new record of visitors to these three sites.

The open day at Ħaġar Qim & Mnajdra Temples saw over 3000 visitors who enjoyed a full programme of events and activities including a number of lectures, a pottery session where visitors were invited to try the methods used during prehistoric times, a treasure hunt, various tours and a taste of food using ingredients available in prehistory.

The Domvs Romana registered a record 2100 visitors on the day. The people visiting the museum had the opportunity of appreciating the intriguing mosaics, original Roman statues as well as the structure itself and numerous other artefacts which form part of the permanent display.
