On Friday, 6th September, Heritage Malta will be hosting the launching of the exhibition catalogue ‘Maestri d’Olanda e di Fiandra nei mari del sud’ at the national-community art museum MUŻA.

In 2018, key works and masterpieces from the national collection at MUŻA went on tour and were showcased at key Italian museums and art institutions. One of the institutions hosting a selection of works was the Pinacoteca Camillo d’Errico at Palazzo San Gervasio (Matera), which is the biggest and most important art collection in the Basilicata region. The exhibition showcased the preferences of nineteenth-century collectors for Flemish works of art in the Mediterranean region, presenting comparisons between a public (Malta’s national collection) and a private collection (Camillo d’Errico) through a selection of works.

This exhibition catalogue, published by Grenzi Editori, features contributions by established and up and coming Maltese and Italian scholars.

Entrance is free of charge but registration is required by Wednesday 4th September on rsvp.hm@heritagemalta.org  or 2295 4300.

Time: 19.00hrs

MUŻA is located at Auberge D’Italie, Merchant Street, Valletta.
