Heritage Malta will be organizing an event that should entice all those who love Malta for its cultural heritage and its beautiful sea and who are keen for a relaxing yet educational evening.
“The Fortifications Harbour Cruise” on Friday 30th May will include a guided tour of the Harbour area by boat, taking those present into the various creeks around the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett, such as French Creek, Marsa Creek and Lazaretto.
The tour will set sail from the Birgu Waterfront at 18:00hrs. Heritage Malta curator of Fort St Angelo, Matthew Balzan, will describe the fortifications with a special focus on the history of those built by the Knights of St John and by the British during and after World War II. After the tour, participants may relax with a glass of wine in the company of acclaimed local singer and musician Triccas on the terrace of the Malta Maritime Museum.
