Heritage Malta is organising an open day?of Fort St Angelo on Sunday 17th June. This will effectively be the public?s last chance to visit the Fort before major restoration works commence as part of the ?13.4 million European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project ? The Fort St Angelo Heritage Experience. This project shall involve the restoration of the historic fabric of the Fort and its development into an engaging and multifaceted visitor attraction in the heart of the Grand Harbour.

The Fort shall be open to the public between 10.00hrs and 16.00hrs, with guided tours being organised at 10.30, 11.00, 11.30, 13.00. 14.00 and 15.00hrs. Entrance shall be free of charge, however donations towards the conservation of Malta?s national heritage are encouraged. Heritage Malta members get priority access and can go straight to the Fort’s entrance on presentation of their card.

Throughout the day visitors will have the opportunity to view an exhibition on thehistory of Fort St. Angelo and the planned ERDF project, walk through audio-visual installations, meet period re-enactors, witness conservators at work, and benefit from discounted prices on publications and merchandise.

During this open day visitors can become members of Heritage Malta at a discount. Membership includes free entrance to Heritage Malta’s sites and museums for one year, 50% discount on the normal ticket price for admission to the Hypogeum, discounts on HM’s publications, and invites to a number of member’s only events organised throughout the year.
