Put some thought into your Valentine’s Gift with a Heritage Malta membership. Roses wilt, chocolate is quickly devoured, perfume is lazy and jewellery doesn’t win any brownie points for originality. However, if your loved one is a history buff or just plainly loves culture and novel days out then a Heritage Membership gift is bound to elevate you in their eyes. Treat yourself too (because charity begins at home) and sign up for a discounted joint membership enabling both of you to enjoy the year-long benefits of a Heritage Malta membership together.

In addition to free admission to most Heritage Malta Museums and Sites* and temporary exhibitions there are so many PERKS to our membership scheme.

Members can avail themselves of a 15% discount on most items purchased at Heritage Malta museum shops. Plus, your kids or grandchildren are entitled to free admission too. But that’s not all. We update you with a calendar of monthly events, and you get to go on organised tours of closed sites, our conservation laboratories and behind-the-scenes at Heritage Malta ongoing projects.

However, the best is yet to come!

Each year Heritage Malta organises exclusively curated events for members only. As a member, you will have first access to unique tours, visit historical locations which are rarely made privy to the public, and participate in bespoke outings.

To tempt you, read about some of last year’s calendar highlights below:

In August, we organised a visit to the brand-new Valletta Design Cluster, a Valletta 2018 legacy project, and the site of the old 17th-century Abbatoir.

In September, we took members to ‘Meet the Bees’ at the apiaries in the ancient ruins of San Pawl Milqi in Burmarrad. Members spent a bee-utiful morning learning about the art of beekeeping and were treated to a tasting session of Heritage Malta’s award-winning honey.

In October, one of MUŻA’s specialised curators gave a members-only personalised tour of the prestigious ‘Masterpieces at MUŻA’ exhibition, whilst in November, Heritage Malta members were allowed into the ‘sottocappella’ and the ‘depost’ within Addolorata Cemetery, two areas normally out of bounds to the public. Eman Bonnici, the author of ‘Iċ-Ċimiterju ta’ Santa Marija Addolorata: Storja, Arti, Personalitajiet’, shared fascinating anecdotes with a spellbound audience about the intriguing history of this architectural gem.

You can start putting your membership card to good use as from the 19th of February this year. Members are being invited to a rare opportunity to explore Fort Delimara and tour this classic Victorian coastal fortification. We’ve also got a Lenten treat, a walking tour and a sneak peek into one of Heritage Malta’s major conservation efforts lined up for you during winter & spring 2022.

Why not gift a Heritage Malta Membership to yourself or a loved one this Valentine’s? This is one present that just keeps on giving, with new exclusive events added each month. A heritage gift you and your loved one will be able to enjoy all year round!
