Threads of Faith: Liturgical Vestments – 15th – 19th Century

On Saturday 26th April, Heritage Malta invites history enthusiasts – especially those intrigued by the religious heritage woven in past textiles and wearables – to a unique seminar at the Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu. The seminar, titled ‘Threads of Faith: Liturgical Vestments from the Knights to the British Period’, centers around the ongoing exhibition with the same name at the Inquisitor’s Palace.

The day will start at 8.30am with the registration of participants, after which a lineup of seven guest speakers zooming in on different aspects of the vestments on display will commence. A coffee break will be offered at 11.00am, followed by the second part of the seminar.

12.30pm – 1.00pm – Annamaria Gatt – Ecclesiastical Laces: Symbolism and Craft in Liturgical Vestments
