Frank Portelli who was a pioneer in the development of Maltese modern and contemporary art, would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year. He distinguished himself not only as an artist but equally as an interior designer, as well as a designer of murals, postage stamps, posters, and floats and masks for Carnival.

To commemorate Portelli’s Art and Life Heritage Malta is keen on inviting the public to a talk and discussion dedicated to the artist, taking place on the 16th of December at MUŻA at the Auberge d’Italie, Merchants Street, Valletta.

The artist’s family and the many who knew Frank Portelli will be present to share their memories.

Time: 18.30hrs. Admission is free of charge, on a first come first served basis. Several artworks and personal items owned by the artist will be exhibited from the 9th of December 2022 till the 8th of January 2023 in the Camerone, MUŻA, Valletta.

This project is a collaboration between MUŻA (Heritage Malta) and Frank Portelli’s family.
