Celebrate the Feast of St Paul’s Shipwreck at San Pawl Milqi!

On Monday, 10th February 2025, Heritage Malta invites you to the historic and normally closed site of San Pawl Milqi in Burmarrad, traditionally associated with the arrival of St Paul on the island of Malta. This event offers a unique opportunity to commemorate this significant moment in Maltese history through a special Mass and exclusive guided tours.

The site, named San Pawl Milqi, is traditionally believed to be the location where Publius, the island’s Protos, welcomed and hosted St Paul during his stay in circa AD 60. Explore this sacred and historic site as you connect with Malta’s rich heritage and traditions.

The event schedule includes a mass, which will be held at 10:00 am in the site’s chapel, in Maltese. Two guided tours will be taking place – one in Maltese at 09:00 am, and another in English at 11:00 am. These tours will delve into the site’s fascinating history, from its rich agricultural traditions during the Punic, Roman, and Arab periods, to its importance in Maltese religious tradition.

This event is open to all ages, with a maximum capacity of 25 participants in each guided tour, to ensure an enjoyable experience. Don’t miss this rare chance to explore one of Malta’s most iconic historic landmarks.
