On the morning of Saturday 6th September, Heritage Malta is inviting children aged 6-9 to explore ancient sustainable art practices at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ġgantija Archaeological Park, in Gozo.
Starting at 10:00, this eco-conscious workshop encourages young participants to learn about natural pigments like ochre and charcoal used by prehistoric communities, and to reflect on how art can be environmentally respectful. Participants will then get crafty as they decorate reusable cloth bags using earth-derived paints and their own creative designs.
This activity promotes both creativity and environmental responsibility, showing how art and nature can work in harmony.
Tickets are just €10 (or €8 for Heritage Malta Members) and include entry for one accompanying adult.
Book online on http://www.heritagemalta.mt/store or visit any Heritage Malta site to reserve your spot.
The event lasts 1hr and 30mins.
Children must be accompanied by adults at all times.
Ages given are just a suggestion – this event can be enjoyed by students who are 2 years younger or older.
Every child is welcome! If your little one has any specific needs, kindly let us know and we’ll do our best to adapt the activity so they can join in the fun.
This activity forms part of Heritage Malta’s Student Passport Summer Programme 2025.
