On Friday 21st June, we are inviting you to experience a day of history and discovery at the Domvs Romana in Rabat, during the special event ‘Melite Civitas Romana Project’.
Just like the serene Sosos doves sipping water on the central emblemata in the Domvs’ peristyle impluvium, you will be able to quench your thirst for knowledge with the latest archaeological findings from the Melite Civitas Romana Project, a collaborative research effort between Heritage Malta, IDEX, Intercontinental Archaeology, and the University of North Alabama.
Join one of six guided tours in English, which will be running every 30 minutes between 9:00am and 12:00pm, and observe archaeologists at work, learning about the fascinating details of their current excavations along the way.
Each tour is limited to 20 participants to ensure a personal and in-depth experience, so early booking is essential. Secure your spot by purchasing tickets in advance at any Heritage Malta museum or site, or online on Store – Heritage Malta.
Additionally, the Domvs Romana will remain open until 5:00pm with special reduced admission rates, allowing further exploration of this historic site. Learn about the rich history housed within its walls and view artefacts that tell stories of Malta’s Roman past!
Please note: Comfortable, closed shoes are recommended for your visit to ensure safety and comfort while exploring the site.
