On Thursday 19th September 2024, Heritage Malta is inviting aspiring historians, archeaologists and geologists, aged 7 years and upwards, for a captivating journey through time with ‘Imprints from the Past: Shells, Leaves’ at the Ċittadella & Gozo Nature Museum.
This immersive activity will uncover the secrets hidden within the rocks of the citadel. Starting at 09:30 am in English, participants will unravel the stories of ancient organic materials, from shells to leaves, preserved for millennia within the earth’s layers. One adult guardian is to accompany every participant.
Through hands-on exploration and insightful guidance, they will learn how these fossils leave lasting imprints, offering glimpses into ecosystems long past. Fossils are the imprints, how animals and organic remains leave imprints.
The adventure doesn’t stop there! As we traverse the citadel, will decipher clues left behind by sedimentation processes, unlocking the geological history of the land beneath their feet.
Join us for a journey of discovery, where history and geology come alive. Secure your spot online on Store – Heritage Malta or from any of our museums and sites!
