Looking for ways to create colourful memories for your children this Carnival?
Join us on Saturday 14th February, for a creative afternoon for children and parents at the ‘Hat Making, Hat History’ workshop, being held at the Inquisitor’s Palace, in Birgu, from 2pm to 4pm.
Inspired by the current ‘Hats Off!’ exhibition at the Inquisitor’s Palace, which houses the National Museum of Ethnography, this hands-on session invites children aged 7-12 to step into the fascinating world of hats – exploring how they were worn in the past and how styles have evolved across time.
Young participants will also be introduced to basic sewing and crafting techniques as they design and make their very own hat to take home.
With a wide selection of materials, colours, and playful accessories to choose from, children are encouraged to let their imagination run wild. Whether adorned with sparkles or feathers, or bold decorations, each creation will be as unique as its maker.
The session is playful, interactive, and a perfect way for young learners to celebrate Carnival through learning, making and dressing up.
Tickets, including admission for one accompanying adult, are available online and from all Heritage Malta museums and sites.
