On Friday, 21st November, Heritage Malta members are invited to an exclusive tour of the National Museum of Archaeology in Valletta, focusing on the exhibition ā€˜From Destruction to Preservation: Towards the Antiquities Protection Act (1925)’.

Taking place from 6:30pm till 7:30pm, the tour explores the development of Malta’s heritage protection laws, from the 1910 Protection of Antiquities Ordinance to the 1925 Protection of Antiquities Act, and subsequent amendments that strengthened the safeguarding of the island’s cultural heritage.

The exhibition features rare documents and photographs, including records of the lost Kerċem Neolithic site and the Buqana Neolithic burial ground, illustrating Malta’s early efforts to document and protect its antiquities.

The tour is free and reserved for Heritage Malta members, but pre-booking is required. Tickets are available online at https://heritagemalta.mt/store/ and at any Heritage Malta museum or site.
