Exploring Nature and Culture Through Maltese Folklore’ is a lecture by Rochelle Lorraine Xerri, taking place on 18th February at the National Museum of Natural History, Mdina, from 6:00pm to 7:15pm.
This lecture explores Maltese folklore as a space where nature and culture are deeply intertwined rather than separate. By examining key stories and traditions rooted in the sea, land, and animals, the lecture expounds how our natural environment actively shapes beliefs, values, and social life.
It invites us to consider how Maltese communities understood their landscape not just as a physical setting, but as a cultural force which directs lifestyles and infuses meaning throughout generations.
Tickets may be purchased online HERE or from any Heritage Malta museum or site.
