Spiral through time at Tarxien!
Artists young and old, professionals and beginners are invited to join us on Saturday 15th March 2025 at the Tarxien Prehistoric Complex, in celebrating 110 years from the very first sketches of the site, shortly after its discovery in 1915.
This unique experience will include a guided tour focusing on art in prehistory and the sketches created by Sir Temi Zammit to record his discoveries during the first excavations of the site. Following the tour, participants are invited to enjoy sketching and painting at the site. Kindly note that participants have to bring their own art supplies. Only dry media can be used on site. Wet media can be used in a designated area of the site where any accidental spills will not damage the delicate remains.
Participants will be treated to refreshments. Later in the year, following discussion and agreement with participants, artworks can be showcased at the Ochre Hall in the Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra Visitor Centre.
Sessions will run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, accommodating two groups of 25 participants each. The event will be conducted in Maltese and English.
Tickets can be purchased online on Store – Heritage Malta or from any of our museums and sites. For any queries or support, you can contact us on 79794906, not later than 2-3 hours before the event start time.
