  • Victor Pasmore (1908-1998) was a pioneer in the development of abstract art in Britain in the 1940s and 1950s. Pasmore’s abstract work pioneered the use of new material in art. His work represented a series of collage and relief constructions and were also large architectural scale artworks. This artwork, ‘Point of contact – What is the object out there?’, showcases Pasmore’s exceptional use of composition, making us divert our eyes throughout the artwork and placing focus on several parts of the picture plane. The use of text also gives us a different dimensions of the well-rounded artist.
