23/08 – Ink & Seals: Secrets of the inquisitor’s Quill

Feathers, paper, and wax!

On the morning of Saturday 23rd of August, we are inviting children aged 8-12 to step back in time and explore the art of letter writing from centuries past, in an interesting workshop at the Inquisitor’s Palace in Birgu.

Starting at 10:00, participants will use tea-stained paper and traditional calligraphy techniques to write letters and seal them with wax, just as people did in the age of the Inquisitor. Through this activity, children will learn more about the power of written communication and about those who had the right to write and be heard in historical contexts.

The workshop encourages thoughtful reflection on truth, censorship, and freedom of expression both then and now.

Ages given are just a suggestion – this event can be enjoyed by students who are 2 years younger or older.
