What would Malta look like in paper?

On Wednesday 23rd July at 16:30, we are inviting young ones (7-12 years) to answer this question in a crafty workshop putting a spotlight on Malta’s urban transformation, taking place at the newly restored Grand Master’s Palace in Valletta.

Using thick coloured paper, coloured pencils, scissors and glue, participants will design and build layered paper landscapes that incorporate imagery of cranes as symbols of change, construction, and environmental impact.

By reflecting on the visual dominance of cranes and new higher structures in Malta's skyline, children will critically examine the balance between development and nature. They will learn basic paper construction techniques to build vertical and horizontal landscape elements and then personalise their creations with illustrations.

Tickets are just €10 (or €8 for Heritage Malta members) and include entry for one accompanying adult. Book online on Store - Heritage Malta or visit any Heritage Malta site to reserve your spot.

The event lasts 1hr and 30mins.
Children must be accompanied by adults at all times.
Ages given are just a suggestion – all events can be enjoyed by students who are 2 years younger or older.

This activity forms part of Heritage Malta’s Student Passport Summer Programme 2025.
