Experience Villa Frere in its heydey on the 4th of June! Join HRGM re-enactors as they bring the Regency period in Malta to life with dance and authentic costumes. Discover the surprising connection between Mikiel Anton Vassalli, champion of the Maltese language, and the Jacobin sea dogs of the late 18th century through a captivating lecture by Liam Gauci, Senior Curator for the Malta Maritime Museum.
Be sure to pre-book a guided tour of the Villa's gorgeous gardens, where you'll learn about the conservation efforts of our dedicated volunteers and get a glimpse of what the gardens might have looked like when the enlightened reformer Vassali visited. And don't forget to reserve your spot for Liam's lecture on ‘Mikiel Anton Vassalli and the Maltese Corsairs’ - there are only 25 seats available, so book now to avoid missing out!
Tours will be available on the hour (with a maximum of 25 people per tour) at 09:00 (Maltese), 10:00 (English), 11:00 (Maltese), 12:00 (English), 13:00 (Maltese), 14:00 (English), and 15:00 (Maltese).
