Behind Closed Doors: Fort St Angelo and the Royal Navy 1906-1979

An exhibition catalogue published for the same titled exhibition, marking the 40th anniversary from the departure of foreign military forces in Malta on 31st March 1979, held at Fort St Angelo itself in 2019. This catalogue illustrates life at this iconic Fort during its occupation by the British Admiralty, its different roles and the services offered to the Royal Navy and its staff, the change in names and reasons behind why the fort was first referred to as HMS Egmont and eventually HMS St Angelo, the daily-life routine as on board a naval ship, and the steady downsizing until the final days leading to the emotional departure, all brought to life by the eye-witness accounts of former service personnel who worked at the Fort.
