Due to popular demand this event has been extended to August.
If you haven’t decamped to the capital yet to admire and be inspired by ‘Masterpieces at MUŻA’ because of the sweltering heat, we’ve got a cooler option for you.
Glam up for an evening date at the Museum, cocktails in hand, and whilst you’re there, become an art sleuth and win a ‘tasting menu’ for two at MUŻA Restaurant.
On four Saturdays throughout August, namely the 7th, 14th, 21st u 28th MUŻA – the Malta National Community Art Museum, will extend its opening hours to the evening and throw open its doors from 5 pm to 10 pm.
For the price of 10 euro, visitors will be offered a complimentary aperitivo -a sparkling concoction of prosecco and peach puree- and a refreshing, vegetarian-friendly, platter consisting of grilled ftira, kunserva, gbejna, and pesto Genovese.
The entrance fee will enable visitors to view Heritage Malta’s prestigious new exhibition, ‘Masterpieces at MUŻA’.
‘Masterpieces at MUŻA’, an extension of Heritage Malta’s mission to make cultural patrimony accessible to the public, showcases 13 Old Master paintings on a long-term loan from an international collection. The paintings, the majority of which are being reintroduced into the public arena after decades out of sight, span a period that encompasses the idiom of the High-Renaissance up to the extravagance of Rococo.
Once you are at the exhibition, like MUŻA’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/muzamalta and upload a photo of each of the two paintings which you think inspired the choice of aperitivo and platter on your own Facebook page together with the hashtag #MasterpiecesAtMuza.
No pre-bookings are required. Tickets are available at the reception desk at MUŻA.
The entrance fee for children aged up to twelve years old is 5 euro and comprises a non-alcoholic drink and nibbles.
Entrance to Heritage Malta Members is free (on ONE of these dates only) and includes the complimentary aperitivo and platter.
‘Masterpieces at MUŻA’ is being supported by Visit Malta; the Ministry for the National Heritage, the Arts, and Local Government; the Ministry for Finance; and the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Malta.
