The Friends of the Malta Maritime Museum will be organising their annual seminar at the Malta Maritime Museum on Sunday 21st May with the kind assistance of the Malta Maritime Museum and Heritage Malta.

This year the theme will be ‘’Knights, Slaves and Corsairs’’. Three distinguished speakers will be sharing their knowledge of maritime related themes: Dr Joseph F. Grima will present a paper “Corsairs Parading Crosses’’, Dr Joan Abela will present another entitled “The corsair economy in the initial years of the Hospitaller rule (1530-1565)”, and Mr Liam Gauci will reveal details regarding a previously unknown document through an accompanying paper entitled “The Sultan’s hunt for Captain Guglielmo Lorenzi’’.

The seminar will be held at St Angelo Hall of the Malta Maritime Museum and will commence at 9.30am.

Entrance is free and open to the general public. Refreshments, including some special culinary treats, will be served.
