Heritage Malta will be organising a Heritage Trail within the magnificent ?a?ar Qim Park in Qrendi. Curators and experts within the field will be available on site to discuss the surrounding archaeological remains and highlight the natural features surrounding the temples that last year alone attracted nearly 175,000 visitors.

This event, organised by Heritage Malta, will be giving the rare opportunity to those present to explore and understand these sites in more detail, especially since the area will be void of the large number of visitors usually present during the day. Apart from tours of the two main archaeological sites of ?a?ar Qim and Mnajdra Temples, the heritage trail will also include informative visits to the Misqa Tanks, the Congreve Memorial and the nearby ?amrija Tower.

The heritage trail will also offer to those present an opportunity to meet photographer Daniel Cilia, who has collaborated with Malta?s leading historians in a diverse range of publications. Cilia will be offering a photographic presentation within the ?a?ar Qim Park Visitor Centre at the end of the tour. Presently, an exhibition of photographs by Daniel Cilia depicting several of Heritage Malta sites and museums can be admired within the main corridor of the Mater Dei Hospital.

This Heritage Trail by Night will be held on Saturday the 10th of September. Participants are to meet with a Heritage Malta representative at the ?a?ar Qim Park car parking area at 17:00. Tickets for this event are priced at ?10 for adults, while HM members, students, and senior citizens pay only ?7. Children under the age of 12 enter for free. Tickets are limited and can be bought from all of Heritage Malta?s sites and museums prior to the event.
