Heritage Malta will be setting sail on September 6th on an initiative that should entice all those who love Malta for its cultural heritage and its beautiful sea.
“The Fortifications Harbour Tour” will include a guided tour of the Harbour area by boat, taking those present into the various creeks around the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett, such as French Creek, Marsa Creek and Lazaretto.
The tour, which will set sail from the Birgu Waterfront at 19:00hrs and will last for approximately two hours, will focus on the fortifications built during the era of the Knights of St John and later modified by the British, explaining their history and importance for the Islands’ defence and economy during the Great Siege and the two World Wars.
Tickets, available on a first come first served basis, can be purchased from all Heritage Malta sites and museums.
