Corridor within the Mater Dei Hospital

Heritage Malta, in collaboration with the Mater Dei Hospital and FUJIFILM Malta, recently set up a permanent photographic exposition inside the main building of the Mater Dei Hospital. This display is made up of a number of large format prints illustrating several Heritage Malta sites and museums. Images included within this exposition were taken by local artist and professional photographer Daniel Cilia.

FUJIFILM Malta kindly sponsored all printing requirements for this exhibition which is currently embellishing the long corridor that leads from the reception area of the Mater Dei Hospital to the underground parking. Fourteen high quality prints on display portray scenes of several Heritage Malta sites and museums, including those of ?agar Qim Temples, St Paul?s Catacombs and the Domus Romana, to name a few.

Manipulating lighting techniques, photographer Daniel Cilia managed to capture the beauty of each site. Images effortlessly radiate and share with passers-by the glorious splendor contained within the original site and museum each image represents.

Heritage Malta is the national agency entrusted with the management of national museums and heritage sites and their related collections in Malta and Gozo, including seven UNESCO Word Heritage sites. The main aim of such expositions within public buildings is to increase interest, knowledge and understanding of local sites and museums. Heritage Malta strives to create a relationship with the public, in order to foster and enhance interest in Maltese heritage and culture.
